Winter Family Session

Snow is already falling in Montana and we have already had many chances to make snowmen in our yards! Winter is fast becoming one of my favorite seasons to shoot in. The snow reflects light like crazy softening pictures to perfection.

I am so glad this session worked out. Laura reached out to me with a vision of snow for her family pictures. Our chances were getting slim when the forecast was only around 20%, but that Saturday started out with dark skies that dumped the perfect amount of snow in Northern Montana.

This winter family session was a dream to shoot! We started off inside their beautiful home. Since it was warm outside we had no problem traipsing around playing in the snow. I love the mix of candid and posed moments I was able to capture. Timing is one of the most important aspects of family photography. The time of day influences the light, how fast I can shoot and keeping a sharp eye out for those special moments and interactions.
