Top 50 Photos From 2020

2020 was a different year no doubt. But it was a very special year too. It’s made us appreciate our loved ones more, our homes, and the little things in life (like apparently toilet paper?!). This year I got to meet so many amazing people, families, and couples!

It was a crazy summer driving all over Montana for sessions, but I had lots of time to listen to podcasts and learn some cooking tips on my long road trips! My husband Kevin, was always a phone call away too! He helped me stay awake on late road trips, or listen to my crying when I got a flat tire 5 hrs away from home. It was hard being gone almost every weekend, but I am so thankful for my husband who kept me going!

I’m so thankful to all my clients who invite me to capture a part of their lives! From weddings to newborn babies, It really is amazing to me to be able to work with all of you! I got into photography after I felt like I was missing that human connection in graphic design. I love to meet people and get to know them! I have found so much joy in getting to know couples who turn into families, and watching my senior clients turn into amazing adults!

Being a photographer in a rural town has been so much more amazing than I could have ever thought when I first started out! I feel very grateful for all the places it has taken me this year and all the people I have gotten to meet as well.

Thank you to all my 2020 clients!

Now to the good stuff! I’ve rounded up 50 of my favorites, in no particular order. So scroll on down to see some of these moments!

This picture isn’t perfect but for some reason it just speaks to me.

This photo is so simple but absolutely classic!

This was from my first wedding of 2020. These guys completely changed gears after COVID-19 hit to change their wedding into a small and intimate ceremony. It was an absolutely perfect day, filled with so much love! We got these shots in the park at the perfect time as the sunlight was filtering through the trees creating this truly magical moment!

This photo still gives me the chills. I placed Cassie here mostly because I liked the light and lines, not knowing that it would be a super sentimental shot. Turns out that the hallway is lined with photos from the bride’s grandpa! He used to gift them to her mom, and the one with the bride’s reflection is the very first one he gave to her mom! He passed away last year, but was defiantly apart of their wedding day!

Flower girls are always one of my favorites to capture on wedding days!

This was one of the last shots from this wedding. The groom had made this wooden round arch! So we back light it and ended up with this fun shot!

We ended Jace’s Petite Project at the family farm! We had also incorporated guitars into all of his sessions!

Such sweet moments! I absolutely love working with my nine month project clients! There is so much excitement but also nervousness as I capture these brand new families!

It was nice and hot for this summer wedding! We were shooting right in the middle of the day when the sun is at its highest and harshest! But we found some shade in one of the sheds on the farm and got this adorable shot!

I may have gotten stung by a wasp for the first time in my life for this shot… note to self check for wasp nests…

Morning light is kinda the best thing ever!

So this was during a shoot with Kelsey for her business, this was just a test shot to check the color/reflection on her glasses. What was just a test turned out to be one of my favorites from her shoot!

This was captured by my second shooter; Jocelyn Woods

Something about this just has a really classic feel to it. He made this table so she asked if we could get it in some of their family photos! I love that you can see their reflections in the table top!
